Eyebrow Tutorial

1. Brush hairs into shape with a spoolie.

2. Define the bottom and “tail” of your brow with a cream liner.

2. Lightly fill in your brow with a shadow that goes with your hair color. (2 shades darker if you have light hair, 2 shades lighter if you have dark hair. Use less near the front.

4. Use a CLEAN angled brush and shift back and forth at front of brow to fade it.

5. “Carve out” brow with concealer. Touch up if needed.

6. Set with a light hairspray to prevent hairs from moving.

If you have a round/oval-shaped face, apply blush under the cheekbones for an instant lift. If your face shape is more triangular or squared, put it right on the cheekbones for the perfect pop of color.

The last, but not least blush mistake is putting on too much and not blending. It’s easy to get that “too done up” appearance when you use the wrong tools. Reach for a loose, dome shape brush instead of a kabuki brush for an even application. Be sure to swirl the brush into the product and tap off any excess. To finish, blend with a clean sponge.

Stretch marks commonly appear red or pink at first and lighten to a whitish shade as the skin heals. To blend stretch marks in with the surrounding skin, combine a bronzing powder with a moisturizing body lotion. Dab the pads of your fingers into the mixture and apply over the stretch marks.

Create a natural appearance

Choose a liquid concealer that is very similar to the skin surrounding the stretch marks. Apply a light layer of the concealer onto the stretch marks and surrounding area. Do not rub the concealer with your fingers but dab the liquid or apply with a concealer brush for an even application.

Set the products to last longer

Powder can be used to set the liquid makeup and help the stretch marks stay hidden longer. Dip a large cosmetic brush into loose powder similar to that of your natural skin color. Dust the powder evenly over the makeup. Use small swipes of the brush to blend the powder.

Blending Steps

Stand in front of a mirror in a well lit room. Note the difference in skin tone between your face and your neck.

Choose makeup for your neck that matches the skin tone of your face.

Choose a large, fluffy and round brush to apply powder foundation. Pick up powder foundation from the edge of the container with only one side of the brush. Pick up only a small amount of powder on the fibers of the brush at a time. Use the brush to distribute the makeup evenly across the skin.

Apply powder foundation onto the neck along the jaw line and under the chin. Work from the chin out towards the jaw line and then down onto the neck. Use a downward stroke to minimize the impact of the brush on facial hair. Make sure there’s no separation of color or visible line between the face and the neck.

Use a damp sponge if you choose a liquid foundation. Pour a small amount of makeup onto the top of your hand. Dip the sponge into the makeup. Smooth the sponge across the jaw line. Use downward strokes to blend the makeup over the jaw line and onto the neck. Check for separation of colors and visible lines.

Set the foundation with a light dusting of matching powder. Gently pat the brush onto the skin of the face and edge of the neck. Move the brush lightly in a circular motion to keep the foundation intact.

Brush a bronzer, a powder that is a mix of the two shades of foundation, onto the neck and around the jaw line. Use a circular motion to buff the makeup into the skin. Brush along the jaw line to erase any remaining lines between the face and the neck.
